A MOTORIST escaped with minor injuries when her car lost control and crashed off the road at Ideford Dip over the weekend.
All three emergency services responded to the accident which happened on the Ugbrooke House slip road.
Firefighters said the woman, in her 20s and on her way to a wedding, was lucky to walk away from the accident virtually unscathed.
Her Peugeot car careered off the end of the slip road and through undergrowth before hitting a tree and spinning around.
The drama near Eagle Farm happened just before 1pm on Saturday (July 29).
The casualty managed to crawl from the wreckage before police, fire and ambulances crews arrived.
Fire teams from Newton Abbot and Teignmouth attended the incident on the Exeter-bound carriageway where they made the vehicle safe.
A fire spokesman said: ‘She was very lucky indeed. The car was totally written off. I’m surprised there are not more accidents there because the slip road is very tight.’
The woman, who has not been named, did not need to go to hospital.
