A WOMAN was taken to hospital after her car ploughed into a hedge on the Kingsteignton Road at Chudleigh.

The casualty escaped with minor injuries when her VW Golf, registered to Newton Abbot, crashed last night on the B3193.

No other vehicles were involved in the accident which happened at 10.30pm.

The woman was taken with a child to Torbay Hospital for treatment.

A police spokesman confirmed she suffered just minor injuries.
