A WOMAN was taken to hospital after suffering a suspected broken ankle in a fall on Dartmoor just outside Lustleigh yesterday evening.

Paramedics treated the casualty just below Sharpitor after she took a tumble while walking with her husband in Lustleigh Cleave at 7pm.

She was stretchered from the remote spot to an awaiting ambulance by members of the Ashburton-based Dartmoor Search and Rescue group (pictured).

The woman, who has not been named, was ferried to Torbay Hospital for a check-up.
