AN American hospital has now started treatment on the Bishopsteignton girl who is suffering from a rare form of cancer.
Jasmine Flay, 16, of Teignmouth community college , flew to Washington DC with her parents after consultants in this country said there was nothing more they could do to combat the multiple endocrine neoplasia which has resulted in a tumour in her windpipe.
The American hospital is pioneering new treatment for the condition, and offered its services free of charge. But the family still face huge bills for flights, accommodation and other expenses.
Mum Angie Beeks told this newspaper that Jasmine had been undergoing non-stop tests since they arrived.
