A CHEQUE for more than £1,000 was presented to Rowcroft Hospice last week by a member of staff at New Image hair salon in Bovey Tracey.
Fifty-five-year-old Sue Borlase, who normally washes her hair daily, went a whole month without doing it once in aid of charity.
She chose Rowcroft Hospice because a member of staff at the salon spent her last couple of weeks there before passing away.
Talking about the month-long challenge, Ms Borlase said: ‘Having it washed for the first time was better than sex and chocolate.
‘Rowcroft is a wonderful organisation and I don’t know how people would cope without them.’
