THE A38 at Haldon Hill will close overnight next week to allow National Highways to remove a sign gantry.
A recent inspection found the gantry to have ‘deteriorated beyond repair’, the government-owned company charged with operating, maintaining and improving motorways in England has said.
The full closure of the A38 at Haldon from 7pm on Tuesday, August 12 to 6am, Wednesday, August 13 will also mean no access to the A380 south-bound.
‘We' will work as quickly as possible, but the work depends on good weather conditions’, says National Highways.
‘Diversions will be signed - please follow these rather than sat nav and allow extra time for your journey’, the company added.
The new gantry is expected to be built from May 2026.
