The ninth annual Abbfest celebration of Devon food and drink at the weekend attracted as many as 6,500 people to Ipplepen, despite Sunday's heavy rain and gales.

Ale and cider lovers supped no fewer than 11,000 pints, each one brewed in the county, while the district's schoolchildren were introduced to the world of healthy eating thanks to some hands on activities such as vegetable sculpting.

Music formed a backdrop throughout the three days
