AGENCY staff cost Teignbridge Council more than £1.3 million in the last three years, although the bill is falling.

The figures were released after 'serious concerns' were expressed about rising levels of long term sickness among the authority's 500 employees.

In 2010/11, temporary workers cost £497,000, last year £460,000 and so far this year £404,000.
