A DARTMOOR parish council was awarded a grant to a project which is hard at work constructing a community space for residents.

Widecombe Community Hall CIO, a registered charity that is overseeing the design and build process of the new community hall in the parish, gratefully received the grant from Widecombe-in-the-Moor Parish Council.

The £500 grant will go towards the cost of connecting the site to mains electricity; when this work is complete, the permanent electricity connection will make on-site work far easier and sets the site up for the future.

A spokesman for Widecombe Community Hall CIO said: 'Sincere thanks to the Parish Council for supporting our charity and moving us closer to completion of this important phase of works.'
