A LOCAL man is appealing for evidence after his car was broken into on Friday, near Grimspound on Dartmoor.

Kevin Presland’s new car was parked in a layby near Grimspound when he found that it had its windows smashed and contents removed, including the belongings of their Ukrainian guests, at 7pm. With poor access and no car park, only six cars can park in the Grimspound lay-by.

Kevin said: ‘We saw the culprits from the hillside and by chance caught them on the edge of a scenic photo which shows them looking in through the car window. They were driving a small’ish white car.’

That morning, another lady also came back to find her car window smashed, all the time with walkers around.

Although nothing valuable was left in the car, fixing the window was an ‘absolute nightmare’.
