THE autumn wool gathering at Buckfastleigh will be back for a second time later this year, and applications for stalls are open until tomorrow, May 17.

Event organiser Jobee Timms, of South West Wool Works, said: ‘I am really happy to announce that we’ll be hosting a second autumn wool gathering this year at the town hall in Buckfastleigh.

‘It has been in the pipeline from our launch in 2016 for the wool gathering to become a twice annual event for the town and we’ve decided that this is the year.’

The event will take place on Sunday, October 21, from 10am to 4pm, and will host an array of stalls selling woollen goods and quality fleece; artisans; demonstrations; drop-in workshops; knit-a-thons; and a pop-up cafe serving seasonal treats.

Jobee added: ‘As the season turns, and people are beginning to dream of snuggly wool jumpers, we’ll gather again to make and celebrate just in time for visitors to stock up on local wool and autumnal coloured yarns for fireside knitting and gift making season.’

The booking deadline for the autumn wool gathering is June 30 and applications for stalls must be emailed to [email protected] by May 17.
