A young male has been arrested and bailed in connection with an allegation of assault at Teignmouth railway station on the evening of Tuesday October 28.
Devon and Cornwall Police have urged the public to ‘refrain from speculation and accusations on social media’ and assured residents that police ‘are working in the background to address the issue’.
Officers have also asked the public to report any incidents and concerns directly to the police after noting that some posts and comments on social media related to incidents that have not been reported to the force.

British Transport Police were called to Teignmouth railway station at about 4:50pm on Tuesday evening (October 28) following reports that a man was assaulted on the platform.
‘The man was taken to hospital and, thankfully, his injuries are not thought to be serious,’ a British Transport Police spokesperson said.
