Teignmouth watersports instructor Tim Cox and friend Andy Purvis, who completed a 3000-mile row across the Atlantic Ocean in January, have been awarded two Kent Mental Wellbeing Awards.
The duo, who rowed as Oar Mighty Mates 2C, were named as Kent Fundraising Champions 2025 and were also given a Maidstone Fundraising award. The accolades recognise the money they raised for Rochester-based baby loss charity Abigail’s Footsteps from the World’s Toughest Row.
The pair raised over £13,500 for Abigail’s Footsteps and a similar amount for Dementia UK.
Andy, who is from Maidstone, collected the awards on behalf of the team.
‘We’re proud to be supporting Abigail’s Footsteps and their amazing work,’ he said.
