A TEIGNMOUTH-based author and artist is celebrating the launch of the eighth title in her award-winning children’s range.

Laura Wall’s Goose series has sold around the world, and this Thursday, Wild Goose, the latest in the popular picture book range will be going on sale.

It is inspired by her great love of nature and the outdoors.

When not hard at work in her Teignmouth studio, Laura, who lives in Kingsteignton, loves to roam around Dartmoor or the local coastline.

She wanted to create to create a story to inspire and encourage children to venture into the wild, and discover the many natural wonders out there.

‘I find such joy and inspiration in nature, exploring not just new places, but making discoveries in familiar ones,’ she said.

‘The opportunity to create a book for children, to help them make the most of the time outdoors, and to use some of their boundless energy to discover the beauty of the natural world – creating memories and adventures of their own, was irresistible to me,’ she emphasised.

Anna Wilkinson, managing director of Award Publications added: ‘In today’s digitally-dominated environment it is imperative for children’s health and well-being that they can experience not only the joy of sharing a book and starting to read but also the freedom of being outdoors, discovering nature and developing an appreciation for the environment.

‘That Wild Goose might hopefully help them achieve all of this is phenomenal.’
