A NEW £4,000 video promoting Newton Abbot has been released in a bid to draw people into the town.
The town was awarded a Coastal Communities Team status which came with a lump sum of £10,000.
The video showcases the town’s attractions, shops, restaurants and leisure facilities available to tourists.
Doug Hellier Laing, Teignbridge Council’s executive for economy, skills and tourism said: ‘The video allows us to show off all that is good about Newton Abbot.
‘It covers the attractive features of the town, as well as showing potential visitors a wide range of activities that they can undertake.
‘In a nutshell, it encapsulates the ideal destination, be it for a weekend or longer.’
The remaining £6,000 will be used for another town centre project which will be revealed soon.
Town centre development manager, Sally Henley, thinks this is a great way to get the message out there that there is so much to do in Newton Abbot.
‘It sometimes seems that Newton Abbot is south Devon’s best kept secret’, she said.
A delighted Cllr Mike Hocking said: ‘Newton Abbot has so much to offer visitors and there is plenty to do for all the family.
‘I am delighted with the new video, which really shows the town off to its best advantage.’
