POLICE today revealed they are taking no further action against a man arrested in connection with the unexplained death of a baby boy in Newton Abbot last week.
Police detained the 27-year-old man after the eight-months-old child was found dead at a property in Brownhills Road on the Broadlands estate last Wednesday.
A police spokesman said inquiries into the death were continuing. But a post mortem examination and toxicology reports had not identified a cause of death, he said this morning.
‘Therefore the death remains unexplained,’ he added.
He confirmed that the man’s bail had now been cancelled and that ‘no further policing action will be taken against him at this time.’
He said: ‘Further examinations are currently taking place and we await these results.’
