A BABY was freed by firefighters after becoming accidentally locked in a garage in Newton Abbot.

The alarm that the three-month-old baby girl was in a car which was locked in the garage of a property in Sandford View, Jetty Marsh Road was raised just after 11am on Monday

Firefighters from Newton Abbot went to the scene and were able to get inside the garage through a ground floor window.They then used small tools to gain entry to the vehicle.

The baby girl was reunited, uninjured, with her mother.
