THE outgoing mayor of Kingsteignton bade farewell to the role he held for two years by appealing to fellow council colleagues to support his successor, Cllr John Foxwell.Cllr Keith Howard urged councillors not to look at the position of councillor as being just for one night a month.He said: 'You have elected John as your new mayor and I am sure he will do a grand job. However, having elected him, you must also support him.'Being a councillor is not a one night a month job and it really worries me that some of you give the impression that you think it is.'Cllr Howard highlighted the reluctance of anyone to take over chairmanship of a council committee after the resignation of Rose Howes and the 'farce' of no one wanting to take on the job of deputy mayor at last month's meeting.
