Kingsteignton Town Council are inviting residents to enter the ‘Royal Cake Bake Competition’ by baking a Jubilee themed cake and to also join them to see Lord Clifford carry out the unveiling of the official plaque for the Queen’s Green Canopy Willow Tree.

Following the unveiling of the plaque, residents of the Town are also invited to enjoy a Cream Tea in the Community Hall.

The celebrations will begin at 11.15am on Friday, June 3.

There will be two categories for the ‘Royal Cake Bake Competition’, one for adults and one for children, non-professional bakers only. Prizes of Austin’s Vouchers and Certificates will be awarded on the day.

Kingsteignton Town Council has already planted a willow tree within the grounds of the Community Hall, one of many planted throughout the UK this year as part of the ‘Queen’s Green Canopy’ unique national tree planting initiative to mark Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022.

Lord Clifford from local Ugbrooke House will make the official unveiling of the plaque at the time when the whole country will be celebrating this momentous occasion in history.

A free cream tea is offered to our residents following the unveiling of the tree plaque by Lord Clifford.  Come along and join us to mark this historical occasion.
