Work continued this week on the great sand swap operation to shore up Teignmouth's main beach.

Tonnes of sand are being transferred from the river beach to the main beach in an attempt not only to maintain supply but to help defend against the worst Mother Nature can throw at the resort.

Beach levels were so low that they had reached crisis point.
