A SUNDAY Times bestselling novelist will be visiting two libraries in Teignbridge to discuss her latest book.
This February, Veronica Henry will be visiting Bovey Tracey and Dawlish libraries as a part of her latest book tour.
Veronica Henry’s twenty-fifth book, The Invitation, is published on February 12.
The novel is a family drama set between London and the rolling West Country, as the Arbutus family adjust to life after the end of the Second World War.
When Clementine meets Alfie Arbutus, and he takes her home to Foxwood Manor, she finds a house full of secrets and heartbreak – and a revelation that will rock their world.
As a Patron of Libraries Unlimited, Veronica is a passionate and lifelong supporter of libraries.
The Invitation is her first foray into historical fiction, so a lot of her research was done at the library, to make sure she got every period detail right, from what cocktails were served at the Savoy to how much it cost to make a call from a telephone box.
Veronica said: ‘If I have a touch of writer’s block, a trip to the library will always jump start me and fill me with inspiration.
‘I borrow the latest bestsellers and old favourites too – you never know where you might end up’.
The Invitation library events: Dawlish Library at 2.30pm on Wednesday, February 25 and Bovey Tracey Library at 7.30pm.
