AN appeal is to be launched to help with the cost of restoring a section of track on the South Devon Railway after a landslide.
An estimated 500 tonnes of mud, rocks and trees fell on to the line between Staverton and Buckfastleigh some time after the last Mince Pie train on December 23 and Boxing Day morning.
The discovery came as a blow as Boxing Day steam services had been due to run on the preserved line for the first time in more than half a century.
