A Christmas message from Cllr Peter Williams, Mayor of Teignmouth:

After a very successful summer in the town, we now move on to the winter months.

Despite recent COVID restrictions it was good to see that most of the festivities went on as planned and the reports I am hearing suggest so did many of the planned Christmas parties

The New Year brings forward many plans for your town that the Town Council have been working on over the last year - including new public toilets throughout the town and new seasonal lighting to replace the lights that have recently had to be removed, plus the development of Bitton House to include new scout huts and other public facilities.

Over the last year there has been a lot of hard work done by councillors laying the foundations for the future. The future is looking bright for Teignmouth but it cannot all happen immediately.

These are long term projects but you should start seeing positive changes in the New Year.

I do not need to remind you to be vigilant and keep an eye on elderly people and those living on their own over the coming cold months, especially with fuel prices escalating the way they are.

Please be good neighbours and look out for those who may suffer at this time of the year

On behalf of Cate, the Town Council and the team at Bitton House, I wish you all a

Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year
