A LARGE-SCALE mosaic now has pride of place on the wall at Doddiscombsleigh Primary School.
The mosaic, which features a tree of hands, was created by children age the school as part of workshop by the Helen Foundation and project-managed by arts organisation Daisi.
Once completed, it was hung on the outside wall of the village school at a celebration event and unveiled to parents, staff and the local community.
Funds raised at last year’s Doddiscombsleigh Art Show have helped to fund the project.
Local artist Monica-Shanta worked with the children to create the artwork.
Rebecca Davies, head of school, said: ‘We were thrilled to welcome Monica-Shanta who has collaborated closely with the school community to create a truly special piece of art.
‘The parents and children were part of the initial gathering of ideas and design and then all pupils in the school were involved in a two-day workshop.
‘The unveiling to parents and children was a huge success.’
