POLICE are appealing for information about an incident in which a motorcyclist raced off after being approached by police patrol.
Early on Thursday, a marked police car attempted to carry out a routine check on a lime green motorbike in Devon Square, Newton Abbot.
The driver made off at speed, finally coming to a stop at the Coombe Cellars car park where he abandoned the vehicle and fled through nearby fields.
Despite the assistance of a dog handler, no trace of the driver was found.
Police are treating the incident as suspicious and are appealing for information about the bike, a
Triumph Speed Triple.
