Newton Abbot Swimming Club competed in the second round of the Devon Development Gala held at Tiverton.

It was a superb finish to the competition, with excellent places for a number of Newton swimmers.

Leading the way was Harrison Boult (12), who won the 100m butterfly, was first in the 200m free, first in the 200m IM and third in the 100m breaststroke.

In the 200m individual medley (IM) Clara Smith (11) finished third before finishing second in the 100 backstroke.

Riki Smith (ten) was third in the 200m free, first in the 400m free and first in the 100m IM, while Eric Perkin (11) was second in the 200m free and third in the 400m free.

Charlotte Wright was first in the 200m IM, first in the 100m breaststroke, runner-up in the 200m backstroke and second in the 100m IM.

Rachel Spooner (12) was second in the 100m free; Jonathan Vaughan Burleigh (12) second in the 100m breaststroke; Brogan Mace (12) second in the 200m backstroke and third in the 100m IM.

Nicole Wickens (14) was runner-up in the 200m IM, second in the 100m free, second in the 100m IM and first in the 800m free,

Emmy Shaddick (14) was third in the 200m backstroke and Gabby Martin (14) second in the 800m free.

Other Newton swimmers competing in the development gala were Hallie Squirrell and Brooke Twose (both aged nine), Madeleine Brett, Molly Burford and Robyn Elliott-Ogden (all aged ten). Laura Silk (11), Thomas Manley, Matthew Ramsey and Oliver Wright (all aged nine), Beverley Cock, Lauren Reed, Olivia Mills, Clara Smith and Sophie Cooper (all aged 11), Shanna Broaders (14), and Will Amey, Samuel Booth and Owen Turner (all aged 12).MORE SPORT IN OUR ONLINE EDITION
