BOVEY Tracey-based charity Planet Earth Games Trust was the recipient of a prestigious national award this week.
The charity won the Social Impact in Education award, the first of several at the annual British Sustainable Sport Awards at Chelsea Football Club.
Other award recipients included Liverpool FC, World Sailing Trust and Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.
Planet Earth Games won their award for their vision and plan to inspire people into active and sustainable lives through the power of sport.
Created in 2019 and supported by Sport England National Lottery, Planet Earth Games Trust delivered a three-pronged programme across the School Games network which reaches 2.5m young people annually.
The programme sought to prioritise sustainability in sports education through the training of sports organisers and the creation of new programmes for young sports leaders in the School Games network.
