IF music be the food of love, there’s plenty of both to look forward to in Bovey Tracey this weekend.

The town will transformed on Saturday as the popular Nourish Festival street fair makes its return.

It’s a celebration of food, and drink, arts and crafts, and music, and since beginning four years ago it has grown into one of the highlights of late summer

More than 3,000 visitors are expected to attend the food market on Saturday, when the main street will be closed to traffic.

Here they can sample all types of street cuisine, including Caribbean, Moroccan, Indian and Mexican, wood-fired pizzas and plenty of British fare for the less adventurous.

If you want to take something special home there’s a whole world of food and drink on offer – much of is locally sourced. Cheeses, meat and game, fish, and pates will be on view to tempt you. There’s locally-made chocolate for the sweet-toothed, and to wash it down you can try some of the beers or ciders on sale.

As well as sampling food you can have a go at preparing it at the Bovey Bake Off, with a junior section for the youngsters.

Longer-lasting mementoes can be seen and bought at the Nourish craft fair stalls at the Methodist church and the Devon Guild.

Music lovers can enjoy recitals by internationally-renowned classical musicians. Friday night’s cello recital at the parish church has sold out but you can still catch Saturday’s recitals at the Baptist Church and the Devon Guild, and there’s live music in the main street during the day.

Festival organiser Sarah James promised: ‘It will be a weekend to remember.’
