TEIGNMOUTH'S top squash players were revealed this week at Broadmeadow Sports Centre, writes Natalie Partridge.
The June/July squash league finished with Gavin Bradwell being named as the winner of the league one.
Phil Bycroft won league two, Phil Jones took the title of league three winner, Tom Hayden was league four's winning player, Dick O'Neil league five, Chris Dearing took top spot in league six and Bernard Cornthwaite was league seven champion.
Each league lasts six weeks and they are currently running all year round. Players have said the leagues are a great way to meet new people and enjoy competitive squash.
League six winner Chris Dearing, from Teignmouth, said: 'Being in the leagues is a great way of meeting other squash players.
'My game has definitely improved since joining.'
Numbers taking part over the past year have grown considerably, with a number of women joining the leagues.
Phill Jones, duty manager at Broadmeadow Sports Centre, said: 'I am really pleased with the participation in the squash leagues over the past 12 months. Even during the summer months we are maintaining numbers of more than 50 players in our leagues and over 200 courts are booked each week.'
The new leagues will be beginning mid-September.
