A MAN died when his car crashed in the Teign Valley late last night (Sunday).

Police today (Monday) confirmed that a Bridford man in his 60s died after his car lost control at Sowton Mill just south of Dunsford.

Ambulance staff received a 999 call just a second before the stroke of midnight.

The man’s Daihatsu Fourtrak was heading towards Dunsford when it lost control, crossed the carriageway and ploughed into a hedge.

A police spokesman said: ‘The driver was removed from the vehicle but was unfortunately pronounced deceased a short time later.’

Officers from the police’s serious collision investigation unit attended the scene.

No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
