ALL 20 jobs at Buckfastleigh's Devonia sheepskin tannery have been saved after a buy-out by Cambridge firm Eastern Counties Leather.
The deal could even mean the creation of new posts at the firm, the last surviving example of its kind in Britain.
The fate of the 130 people employed by Devonia's sister Buckfast Spinning Company has yet to be revealed.
Last week, parent firm Axminster Carpets announced it was considering going into administration.
Civic leaders said the results could be disastrous for the local economy.
