SEA cadets will be able to compete in rowing competitions across the UK, thanks to a new sleek boat.
They have just taken delivery of the Trinity 500, which cost £4,000 and will replace the ageing Admiralty Sailing Craft, which was used by all cadets corps, on loan from the Ministry of Defence, but have now been taken out of service on cost grounds.
It has taken a big fundraising effort by the TS Canonteign Sea Cadets to raise the money for the craft and ancillary equipment, and the youngsters have been waiting for delivery for six months. It finally arrived this week.
