BUDDING gardeners in Newton Abbot will have the chance to bag themselves a cash prize as the ­annual Newton in Bloom ­competition returns.

Residents who take great pride in their gardens can enter the ­competition in a range of categories with the hope of being victorious.

Categories include large and small garden, town terrace gardens, ­hanging baskets and many more.

Cllr Richard Jenks said: ­‘Residents and businesses around our town take a real pride in their gardens, hanging baskets and floral displays.

‘It puts a smile on the faces of ­fellow residents and visitors when they see these lovely gardens and displays – it really brightens our town.’
