Two county councillors are calling for a 40mph speed limit on the main B3192 road into Teignmouth – branded the most dangerous in Devon – after yet another collision.

The road, also known as Colley Lane, was closed for several hours after a vehicle lost control on the beds near Ashcombe..

And the Exeter Hill end of the road opposite Teignmouth Community School, was the scene of a head-on collision between two cars.

The road has had 28 recorded accidents in the last four years, according to the county council website

Cllrs Alan Connett and Richard Younger-Ross, whose patches cover parts of the road, believe this is only a small part of the total number of accidents, as many collisions are not recorded because they do not involve an injury and are do not need to be reported to the police.
