CLIMATE campaigners gathered outside Friday’s Dartmoor National Park meeting to support the declaration of a climate and ecological emergency, and draw attention to the environmental crisis.
Campaigner Clare Tinnyunt said: ‘We had a fantastic response from the people of our communities who gathered to support Dartmoor National Park Authority members.
‘Environmental issues are nothing new. People have been campaigning for decades. But we’re in different times now and face a serious climate and ecological emergency and we have to act now. Nature is declining globally at rates unprecedented in human history and the rate of species extinctions is accelerating fast.’
