CANONTEIGN Falls was the picturesque backdrop for a dog walk to support Hearing Dogs for Deaf People.

The Great British Dog Walk attracted more than 120 people and more than 100 dogs who enjoyed the good weather.

Lauren Maher, south west and south Wales community fundraising manager, said: ‘A huge thank you to all who attended on Sunday.

‘The weather smiled on us all day and our walkers gave glowing reports of the stunning grounds when they got back.

‘A big thank you to our volunteers, new and old, who worked hard throughout the day and a big thank you to Canonteign Falls, our fabulous hosts.’

Hearing Dogs are trained to provide help, independence and companionship to deaf people

Taking part was Christopher Guard and his hearing dog Fergus.

He said: ‘A truly wonderful sunny day set in the magical grounds of Canonteign Falls for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People.

‘As a recipient I would like to thank the organisers at Hearing Dogs for their part in making this possible.

‘Meeting so many fellow recipients and countless dog lovers with their pet dogs made my day.’

The Great British Dog Walk at Canonteign Falls provided a fun-filled day for recipients, volunteers and supporters to join forces and help raise funds for the cause, which will mean that more Hearing Dogs can be paired with those who need to become more confident in their daily lives.
