A STRIKING reminder of seaside glory days is the centrepiece of an exhibition at Teignmouth and Shaldon Museum. An original 1950s British Rail poster, a testament to the glamour of Teignmouth in days gone by, is on loan for the Beside the Seaside exhibition as a thank you for the kindness of townsfolk. New Teignmouth residents Dr Desmond Clark and his wife Anna bought the alluring image of their favourite seaside resort as a reminder during their lengthy re-location to the resort. It shows two young lovelies and a muscular young man enjoying a moonlit bathe on the beach with the Ness and The Den in the background. Dr Clark said: 'It really does capture how lovely the beach can be on a clear moonlit night and the title Teignmouth is Devon really does sum up what a wonderful and spectacular seaside town it is. Thank you Teignmouth for making us feel at home so quickly.' Museum archivist Pat Warner said the poster makes the perfect centrepiece for the new exhibition, which takes a light-hearted look at the resort through the ages. 'It is just beautiful,' she said. The museum is open until October 31, Monday-Saturday 10am-4.30pm and in August on Sundays 2pm-4.30pm.
