A CAR fire near Ipplepen is believed to have been started deliberately.

One fire appliance from Paignton attended a car on fire in a yard at Combefishacre, near Ipplepen, at around 8pm last night (Sunday).

A spokesperson for the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue service said: ‘Crews arrived and confirmed the car well alight. One hose reel jet and two breathing apparatus were used to put the fire out, which was deemed to be deliberate ignition.

‘Police were requested to attend, and duty of care was left with them.’
