A TEIGNMOUTH shop has been shut down by police for three months for selling counterfeit good.
The closure order was granted for the JR Mini Market in Bank Street.

A police spokesman said: ‘This is a direct result of being caught selling counterfeit tobacco products on several occasions by Trading Standards.
‘JR Mini Market must now remain closed for three months.
‘Failure to comply with the order can result in arrest and prosecution.
‘Unlike regulated tobacco products, counterfeit and illegal products are not subject to quality control so pose higher health risks and have a negative impact on local legitimate businesses.’
The closure is part of a clampdown by police and trading standards across the district on illegal tobacco sales.
Police have pledged ‘robust’ action against any premises selling fake goods.
They say the will ‘not tolerate’ businesses choosing to profit from unlawful activity.
Fake tobacco does not meet UK safety standards and is frequently sold at a cheaper price.
