A bull caused a 999 fire call in Newton Abbot today (Wednesday).

Firefighters went to the cattle market at 1pm to help ease the beast from a cattle crush which was too small for the animal’s bulk.

Hydraulic cutting equipment was used to release the animal unharmed.

A witness said: ’It was a lot of bull.’
