A reception at the Ashburton Information Centre on Saturday marked the start of the popular facility's third decade.Now housed in an annexe behind the town hall, the information centre was founded in a portable building in the car park.Photographs taken in July 1992 show then town crier Tony Pugh and mayor Cllr Eileen Egbeare performing the honours.Some 20,000 people now use the service each year and rely on its 16 volunteers for advice on everything from job opportunities to holiday accommodation.
