HOPES for a summer of music and fun have been raised after the organiser of Chagstock festival has announced that all systems are go for the July event.

Revellers were left gutted after the pandemic saw off last years’ shindig. However, big names originally booked for 2020 such as California songwriter Seasick Steve and pop-rock trio Scouting for Girls, will take to the Dartmoor stage, albeit a year later than planned.

Festival organiser, Simon Ford, was excited to get things moving. He said: ‘Chagstock will go ahead if the road map of lockdown is successful and the government allows it.

‘If not, tickets will be valid for when it does go-ahead, so… keep hold of those golden tickets.’

Demand for the festival – and normality – was apparent. Simon added: ‘Be quick as we think there will be a huge demand and we don’t want you to be disappointed. Get your tickets now before they sell out.’

Tickets for last year’s bash are valid for this year.

The fancy dress theme scheduled for 2020 will also get an outing. Revellers are encouraged to don Mardi Gras themed costumes on the Sunday of the weekend.

Tickets are available from www.chagstock.info.

The festival is scheduled for July 23 to 24.
