When Bovey Tracey mum Jade Ballard decided to get a puppy for her two young sons Kyron, four, and 21-month-old Jake, the care worker had no idea that within a fortnight she would find herself in the middle of a 999 drama.
Bella, a ten-week-old Labrador, got her head trapped in a wine rack at the family's Mary Street home on Tuesday afternoon after all attempts to free her failed.
'She was in the kitchen with a friend's dog I was looking after and they were playing, barking and yelping, so I came downstairs to tell them off,' said Miss Ballard, 22.
