POLICE were on scene last night after an 11-year-old boy was hit by a car on Shaldon Bridge.
Officers were forced to close the road for a number of hours.
The child was taken to hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.
A spokesman for Devon and Cornwall Police said: ‘We were called at around 3.50pm on Thursday November 5 with reports of a collision between a car and a child on Shaldon Bridge, Teignmouth.
‘The child, an 11-year-old boy, was taken to hospital with injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.
‘The road was reopened at 7.25pm.’
