A CHIMNEY fire at Lower Dean, near Buckfastleigh, was extinguished by local firefighters late yesterday (tues) afternoon.

Chimney gear together with small tools and a thermal imaging camera were used by the crew who attended the scene at 4.30pm.

The source of the blaze was a wood-burner.
