A TEIGNMOUTH charity worker is leaping out of a plane to raise money for her organisation.

Chloe Myers, office manager at Volunteering in Health, will make the sky-dive on Sunday, February 21.

Friends bought her the ‘present’ for her 30th birthday.

‘It was an unexpected gift, but we are always looking for people to do weird and wonderful things to raise funds for the charity, so thought it’s about time I did my bit,’ said Chloe.

The charity supports lonely and isolated people in the Teignmouth, Dawlish and Chudleigh area through transport to medical appointments, befriending, carer support, memory cafes and lots more.

Ms Myers’ friend, Amy Ford, said: ‘Chloe is such a unique lady. We decided she needed a unique and memorable present and knew she would embrace leaping into her 30s with a sky-dive.

‘We’re all really excited about watching her on the day, and hope it helps raise lots of much-needed funds for the important work the charity does.’

Two other friends from a mums’ group, Jenny Viner and Laura Parfitt, have decided to join Ms Myers in her sky-dive.

Ms Viner said: ‘I have always wanted to do a sky-dive but never quite had the guts, so being able to do one with friends while supporting a local charity was the perfect opportunity for me.’

Ms Myers can be sponsored by texting SKYD30 £ (amount you want to donate) to 70070, or contact the office on 01626 773924 for other payment methods. Every penny will go towards the charity to support their work.

As well as financial donations, Volunteering in Health is always looking for volunteers to offer from as little as an hour a week to support lonely and isolated people.
