One fire engine from Newton Abbot was called out to reports of a chimney fire at a property near Chudleigh this morning.
On arriving at the scene at a farmhouse in Ideford, the fire crew confirmed the chimney fire was believed to be out on arrival.
A Devon and Somerset Fire service spokesman said: :Crews carried out an investigation at the scene with a thermal image camera and short extension ladder."
