THE Newton Abbot branch of a national pizza chain is among several in Devon that will close.
Papa John’s announced its plans to close 13 of its Devon stores, including Newton Abbot.
The Queen Street store will be closed for the foreseeable future as the national pizza chain says it has parted ways with the franchisee who operates stores across the South West.
The closures come after Papa John’s reviewed the performance of the franchised outlets, which also includes Torquay and Exmouth.
A spokesperson for the pizza chain said: ‘We hold all our restaurants to the highest standards and expect our franchisees to operate with integrity and in line with our values.
‘Following a thorough review, we have ended our relationship with this franchisee.’
