UP to 20 jobs could be lost at clay firm Sibelco from its Kingsteignton clay works.

The company has announced that after a review, it needs to cut jobs to keep viable in what it describes as 'tough trading conditions' across Europe.

Staff at the Kingsteignton operation were told of the situation on Wednesday.

Bosses have asked for voluntary redundancies and say compulsory job losses will only be considered when the process has been completed and if not enough staff come forward to achieve the required savings.

More than 100 full time staff are currently employed at the Kingsteignton site.
