DAWLISH Coastguard were recently called to Starcross after a person was injured on a vessel that had run aground.

The person was reported to have suffered potential head and spinal injuries.

RNLI Exmouth’s inshore lifeboat attended and carried out an initial assessment, before the vessel was brought alongside a nearby pontoon.

A South Western Ambulance Service paramedic was then able to board the vessel and prepare the casualty for removal.

With help from the RNLI lifeboat crew and Dawlish Coastguard personnel, the casualty was carefully taken from the vessel and transferred to a waiting ambulance.

Dawlish Coastguard wished the person a speedy recovery.
